Over time a 'well'loved' rug will have a lived-in look when sat on regularly. While they are resilient, constant pressure will lead to natural changes in the wool. Over time the wool fibers will loose the fluffiness, becoming flatter and become matted, tangled.
Brush regularly using a wire pet brush or specialised wool carder to lift the fibres and restore fluffiness. Also shake frequently - a vigorous shake helps remove dust & keeps the wool airy.
